What Happened On August 3rd 1804
We traveled in the keel boat down the Missouri river
hoping to give our best that we tried to deliver
rowing back and forth with sweat dripping down my face
thinking if we are going too slow or too fast of a pace
orders being shouted at every turn of the oar
saying heave heave and nothing more
the captains are in the back mapping out our plans
wile we're in the front getting our tans
looking on the shores seeing amazing animals
of all sorts from reptiles to mammals
earlier I saw some snakes, a squirrel and a bear that was black
later I saw a mountain lion chasing its prey and not looking back
when we finally found a stopping point we got off and went ashore
we went to land to make some friends and to explore

Erin, sorry for missing your poem last week. You do a great job of describing and having fun with so many events and discoveries in each line. You covered a bunch of river in your poem. Thanks for doing that. Also thanks last week, for working so hard and taking time to describe so much. I will rewrite your check for last week and give you $A- for your strong efforts.
