Dear Mr. Jefferson,

The journey was the corps at its best. the journey was America at its best.
I have given you my hard work, time and wisdom.We have made the almost a dream,a reality. On this journey we were a team at there best. we were the corps at its best. America had made there best discovery. we were America at its best.

November 30th 1805

Hazelnut- Cornmeal Pancakes

1/2 chopped hazelnuts

1 1/2 cups stone-ground cornmeal

1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
berry syrup,butter honey,or sugar for serving

Sourdough Starter

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

2 cups warm water
2 cups unbleached flour

Fort Clatsop Sourdough Biscuits

1/4 cup sourdough starter

1/2 cup warm water
1 1/2 to cup of flour
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon butter
butter and honey, for severing

New Potatoes with Hazelnuts and Fennel

1 pound new potatoes

1 fennel bulb
1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
